Good news, folks!  India’s revenue from exports of IT and BPO services is estimated reach US$49.7 billion in the Indian fiscal year to March 31, 2010, according to NASSCOM. This is a 5.5 percent growth compared to the previous year. The revenue figure includes exports by Indian outsourcers and Indian services and software development subsidiaries of multinational companies.

There is an increase in demand of services from software companies, especially from the American markets – heartening news after a two-year lull caused by the recession. Software companies have started hiring again. Direct employment by the country’s IT industry is expected to be 2.3 million by March 31, 2010, with over 90,000 jobs added during the current fiscal year. 2010 looks like a promising new year for the Indian software outsourcing industry.
